The Watercress Company

Tim Jesty  has been growing watercress for Tesco for 30 years and is in fact a fourth generation watercress producer. He grows this unique aquatic plant in fresh spring water, sourced from deep ancient artesian wells, which filters gradually through the surrounding natural chalk downs of Dorset and Hampshire. Tim oversees all of our UK farms with Sean Ede, (Hampshire) and Steve Collis (Dorset) running them on a day to day basis.

Tim, Steve and Sean grow both conventional and organic watercress for Tesco on the  farms, and both are cut daily to ensure freshness to the customer. They  are great believers in sustainable farming practices, which they strongly feel benefits the natural wildlife including Kingfishers and the Water Vole. To ensure product traceability, each bag of our watercress sold through Tesco has a product code, which enables you to see (via the website) where the watercress was grown and who harvested it.  To visit Tim’s website and meet the rest of the staff and farms log onto  www.tescowatercress.com
