Family Run Organic Fruit Farm
Nick Moor and his family produce Tesco Finest Kent Apple, Pear juice & Tesco Organic Apple Juice on their farm. Nichol Farm, Teynham, Kent has been in the family for four generations with an established business since 1923.
The Orchards adjoin the land originally planted with apples and cherries by Richard Harris in the sixteenth century and known as “The King’s Orchards in the village of Teynham for the enjoyment of King Henry VIII “. Today they produce Tesco Finest Kent Apple, Pear juice & Tesco Organic Apple Juice. The juices are made from a single variety of apple/pear.
Moor’s orchards encompass over 165 acres of land which is productive and since 1999 the entire farm became organic. They grow apples and pears in their orchards which are on largely deep mineral rich loam soils, in a location that provides an equable climate, which minimises frost risk at blossom time, and ensures ideal ripening conditions to produce fruit of truly exceptional flavour and texture.
In 2004 a new warehouse and “State of the Art” production unit was installed allowing the whole production process to take place on the farm. The juices are of the highest quality because the fruit is pressed at its optimum ripeness, being flash pasteurised and bottled to obtain that fresh taste.
