Spinach
John Allan of Emmetts, Nottinghamshire has been growing spinach for Tesco for over 20 years. John is involved in all stages of the crops life, starting with selecting the best varieties, buying the best quality seed, monitoring the crop through it life so that the finest product is harvested.
John believes in the principles of Intergrated Crop Management and farms in harmony with the environment to encourage biodiversity that is benificial to the crop. This, he hopes, will mean that the farm remains sustainable for future generations.
