Cornish New Potatoes

New seasons " New Potatoes" are grown exclusivly for Tesco by farmers Mark and Ed Rowe in the Helson, Penzance areas of Cornwall. 8 years ago Rowe Farms Ltd, made a strategic decision to grow high quality potatoes and sell them to Tesco through Tesco`s largest potato supplier Branston Ltd.

Over the 8 years of supply volumes have increased six fold and now Mark and Ed farm 600 acres solely for Tesco.

As well as supplying local Tesco stores in the south west, Rowe Farms new potatoes are supplied now to Tesco stores along the South Coast and up into the Midlands during May and early June. This strategic growing and distribution plan has enabled Tesco to cut out imported supply during this time period. Mark and Ed grow around a third of the total Cornish New Potato crop for Tesco worth an estimated £1.85 million to local economy
