Outdoor Bred Pork
We stock a complete range of outdoor reared pork, which we buy from Tesco-dedicated farmers in East Anglia. These pigs are all reared in the fields of East Anglia in outdoor arks and are finished indoors on straw barns.
Our farmers use breeds of sow which are best suited to outdoor production, and keep them in groups throughout their pregnancies. They provide them with insulated straw-dedded arks to give birth and rear their piglets in until they are weaned.
Once our piglets are weaned they are kept in straw-bedded barns outside for half their life. they are then transported in state of the art transportation to straw barns. The pigs are kept in stable groups and fed as much as they want to eat on a cereal-based diet.
