Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses

The Butler family has been making Lancashire cheese for commercial purposes at Wilson Fields Farm in Inglewhite since 1932 when it was first used for bartering goods at the local market.
As the business has been handed down through the generations, both growth and change has come about, but milk has always been sourced exclusively from the family’s farms or neighbouring dairy farmers, the common factor being that the herds all graze the rolling green hills of Lancashire’s Beacon Fell.
The cheeses are handmade by a select group of cheese makers passionate about their craft; using traditional farmhouse cheese making methods and time honoured recipes.
Still family owned, the company produces a range of territorial hard cheeses and more recently has moved into Blue cheeses and Goat milk cheeses with great success.
